Vodafone launches M-Pesa app

While Vodafone has been pushing out their m-pesa service, the company has now launched mobile apps to facilitate the service.



Vodafone India has announced the launch of the m-pesa app, which allows the customer to avail the services through mobile. The app, which is available on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Phone platform, can be used to pay bills and recharge mobile without having to visit the centre. Users can load the money their M-Pesa wallet through Net Banking/Debit Card directly through the app.

According to Vodafone, the m-pesa service has a pan-India distribution of over 90000 agents with more than 3 million customers. The service can be used to recharge any prepaid number including of operators other than Vodafone. Similarly, recharges for DTH, broadband and other services can be done directly.

Speaking about the Vodafone M-Pesa app, Suresh Sethi, Business Head, M-Pesa, Vodafone India, said, “Vodafone has always been at the forefront in launching innovative products and services relevant to the needs of our customers. Reliance revises ‘Truly Unlimited’ Netconnect+ prepaid plans, now comes with 1X FUP

Few months back, Reliance Communications had launched ‘Truly Unlimited’ prepaid plans for its Netconnect+ service. Reliance has now revised these plan and now comes with Fair Usage Policy after which the speed will be throttled to 1X speed.



Earlier Netconnect+ prepaid plans Rs 449 and Rs 797 offer true unlimited CDMA EVDO internet at 3.1 Mbps speed for 15 days and 30 days respectively. Reliance has withdrawn plan Rs 449(except for UP West) and revised  Rs 797 to offer 10GB/12GB unlimited with FUP for 28 days instead of 30 days earlier. But Reliance has retained both plans as true unlimited for UP west circle.

Reliance has made available Rs 999 plan for Netconnect+ subscribers which was earlier only available for Reliance PRO 3 users. The plan offer 10GB day + 10GB night or 12GB day + 12GB night usage for 28 days validity depending on circle. For postpaid subscribers Reliance Netconect+ offer true unlimited on Rs 999 plan available only in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra & Mumbai.

True unlimited internet plans are very rare in wireless broadband segment and Reliance offering was welcomed by users across the country. But the latest move by the company to end true unlimited plan will be a great blow to Netconnect+ subscribers.

MTS Network Coverage Locator enables users to check the connectivity in a region

MTS has launched a platform for the users to check the connectivity of its services using a network coverage locator on a smartphone or a computer.

Dubbed as MTS Network Coverage Locator, this is a Geographic Information System-based service that will first track the location of the users and enables them to check the quality of its services from the location address entered. Thus, any new customer who plans to buy a new MTS data card can check the quality of connectivity himself before purchasing the connection.

Besides checking connectivity, this platform can be used to locate the nearest MTS branded retail outlets. The service is available across Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, West Bengal, Gujarat, Delhi, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh (West).

“This would probably be the first time in India someone has come up with this kind of graphical user interface for customers. This is an India-centric initiative to check coverage in a particular area and ensure our services do not fall in a shadow area,” said Rajeev Batra, Chief Information Officer (CIO), to a leading national daily.

“All operators have dark spots even in cities and this is an effective way to find out the quality of coverage in a region,” he added.

Apple to offer Music subscriptions at affordable price

At the WWDC 2015, Apple showcased its in-house streaming service — Apple Music. The company has recently initiated the roll out of fourth beta of iOS 8.4 to the developers and the new version includes the overhauled Apple Music application.

The sign-up page for Apple Music has started displaying to the Indian developers as well and it unveils the pricing for each plan as Rs. 120 per month for an individual and Rs. 180 per month for the entire family (up to six family members). Not just that, the company is also offering three months of trial service as well.

Interestingly, in the United States, Apple is charging $9.99 per month for an individual and $14.99 per month for a family. Apple Music houses 30 million songs, 24 hours radio ( 24/7 Beats 1?) and it will also allow user to build their own station by choosing songs, artists or albums. Although, the company has not revealed its plan to bring the entire library to India.

Apple Music will be rolling out to over 100 nations on June 30th, for its devices iPod touch, iPod, iPhone, iPad, PC and Mac. The app will debut on Android TV and Apple TV somewhere around September to November.

Reliance Jio to commercially launch by December 2015: Mukesh Ambani

The speculations on the launch of Reliance Jio come to an end! At the 41^st Annual General meeting of Reliance shareholders, its Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the launch of the commercial services of Reliance Jio by December 2015. Trial runs for the service will be available to a few selected consumers of Reliance in next few months.

The expected price range for the package is said to be between Rs. 300 – 500, whereas the 4G LTE smartphones will cost the consumers below Rs. 4000.



“The target of Reliance is to cover 80 percent of India’s population by year-end,” said Ambani.  Reliance will focus on the operations of Reliance Jio this year. Around Rs. 60,000 crore was already invested for Jio and the company expects it to be a top line contribution to Reliance’s revenue.

“Reliance Jio is currently in pre-launch testing and stabilising phase. The key components of broadband network are now operational and we will play an important role in the digital revolution planned by the Indian government,” Ambani said.

“At present 100,000 people are working at Jam Nagar for petrochem and refineries expansion and another 150,000 working across India in building network of Jio. The full benefits of these investments will be realized 2016-17 onwards,” said Ambani.

“The 4G smartphones, which are expected to be priced below Rs. 4000 will beam HD television, video-on-demand, music, news and magazines,” he added.

There is also a move for Reliance Jio to enter into broadcast television distribution and thus, has applied for pan-India cable television MSO license. There is also a partnership with State Bank of India to apply for a payments bank license.

Mi 4 gets another price cut, now selling at ₹ 19,999.

It was not long ago when Xiaomi announced Rs. 2000 price cut on the 16GB and 64GB variants ofMi 4. Now, in the latest development, the company has announced yet another Rs. 2000 permanent price slash on the 64GB variant of the Mi 4.

TATA Docomo introduce Rs 33 and Rs 66 internet pack revises smart life plan

TATA Docomo has introduced Rs 33 & Rs 66 2G data packs in Mumbai circle. Both packs offer one of the cheapest internet tariff in the country valid for a month.



Rs 33 internet pack offer 150MB internet for 28 days and Rs 66 pack offer 300MB for 28 days. Post free data usage subscriber will be charged at 10p/10KB. The longer validity on the packs make it attractive for subscribers who use less data but require a data pack for the whole month.

Docomo has also revised its 3G smart life plan in Maharashtra circle. Rs 299 plan now offer only Rs 175 talktime + 1GB data for 28 days instead of Rs 200 talktime + 1GB data for 28 days. Google is working on Opera Mini rival

Google mentions that over 200 millions of Indians access the internet through their smartphones and the company is working towards making that mode of net browsing faster and cheaper. As per company’s vision, if the new service receives success in reducing the waiting time per consumer even by a second, then also it would collectively save 2-3 years of waiting time.

New tatkal ticket booking time from june 10

Indian Railways has changed the timing for the booking of Tatkal tickets, and said that customers can get a refund of upto 50% on cancellation for the same. 

As per the new schedule, the Tatkal booking for AC classes will commence at 10am and close at 11am, while for the non-AC classes, the Tatkal booking will commence at 11am and close at noon. 

Railways will soon launch its 'Tatkal Special' train service, travelling on which will be dearer than on normal trains. 

The cash-strapped public transporter will make special trains on tatkal fares operational for certain busy routes. 

While 'Premium' trains — tickets for which are priced as per a dynamic fare structure — are already operational, the Tatkal Special trains will be an additional service to cater to the rush. 

The Railways has also relaxed the advance reservation period for Tatkal Special trains. The advance reservation period is of a minimum 10 days and a maximum of 60 days.

Android Lolipop 5.1 coming soon to Moto X (2013)

Motorola users have their own set of reasons to be happy in terms of receiving Android updates faster than other devices. This time the device in luck is Motorola Moto X 2013, which is going to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update soon, as declared by a Motorola employee, David Schuster. 



Schuster revealed in a Google+ post that the smartphone is presently going through soak tests in Germany and France. The soak test is also expected to be stretched to the users in USA and Brazil, in a week after the soak test, Motorola will initiate the full-fledged roll out.

In accordance with Schuster’s post, the company is currently testing the update with different carriers so that carrier specific or locked devices don’t face any hindrance in getting the update. Although, in comparison to unlocked or non-carrier specific handsets, carrier specific or locked devices might take longer for receiving the update.

Sun TV network to go off air as home Ministry denies clearance; Channel to seek legal recourse, says CFO

In a move that could seriously affect the fortunes of media giant Sun TV network owned by the Maran family, 33 channels of the group have been ordered to go off air. The order came after the Home Affairs Ministry denied security clearance to the channels. It is learnt that the clearance has been refused on the basis of an ongoing probe against Kalanithi Maran, owner of the group, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Earlier in April, the Home Ministry had also denied clearance for the 40 FM channels of Sun in which the Group had managed to get stay from Madras High Court till the petition disposed off. Sun TV Network is one of India’s largest media groups whose TV channels reach more than 95 million households in India.



The Home Affairs Ministry denied permission despite a favoring note from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. In a similar case in April on Sun FMs, the Home Ministry refused to revoke its decision despite request from the I&B ministry. “We will definitely seek legal recourse if our licence is revoked,” said Sun Group CFO SL Narayanan. However the Group maintained that they are yet to receive any order in this regard from the respective departments. The stocks of the channel went down by over 20 percent after the order came out.

The Maran brothers, nephews of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi, are facing a CBI probe over alleged allotment of 300 high-speed BSNL telephone lines to the residence of former Communications and Information Technology Minister Dayanidhi Maran in Chennai which were extended to his brother’s channel. There are two other pending criminal probes against Sun TV Network and its owner Kalanithi Maran.

Airtel Data packs hiked again

Following Ideal Cellular’s footsteps, Airtel has also augmented prices of its data packs. As per the reports, the 2G and 3G data packs available online will now cost more to prepaid customers across India.



Earlier, the company was offering lucrative discounts on the prepaid data packs sold online, but after the price hike announcement by Idea Cellular, Airtel has also decided to withdraw those discounts and enhance the prices. Customers will no longer receive any discounts while buying prepaid data packs online.

Apart from withdrawing discounts, the company has increased prices of over 10 data packs. Earlier users could get 2 GB 2G data for Rs. 199 with 30 days validity through online recharge mode, but now the company has reduced the data to 1.25 GB with 28 days validity. In the case of 3G, 1 GB data that was earlier available for Rs. 249 with 30 days validity has now been revised to Rs. 255 with 28 days validity.

It’s not the first time when telcos have introduced price hikes. Last year also, companies like Vodafone, Airtel and Idea Cellular had increased voice call as well as data tariffs to improve profitability. It will be great to see how the other rival companies like Reliance and Vodafone react to this price hike by Idea and Airtel.

Microsoft WiFi coming soon

Microsoft is secretly working on a new service named ‘Microsoft Wi-Fi’ that will provide Wi-Fi connectivity to subscribers all over the world.

According to reports, a Twitter user WalkingCat  first noticed the website microsoftwifi.com on which it was mentioned ‘hassle-free Wi-Fi access around the world’, so users can be productive ‘on the go’. The same Twitter user earlier revealed Microsoft Earn on Twitter.



Soon after the news was leaked on Twitter, Microsoft pulled down the website. However, a website venturebeat.com captured the screenshot of the website, which read as below:

Android M Preview

THE ANDROID M PREVIEW:

Late last week, I fired my up Mac's Terminal, pecked out a few half-remembered commands, looked them up, typed them out more slowly and that was that. After a few moments of silent finger-crossing, I was the proud owner of a Nexus 6 running theAndroid M Developer Preview. I then did something I didn't really expect to: I turned off my iPhone and made the snap decision to use Android M -- unfinished as it is -- as my main squeeze until Google I/O came to an end. The show's long over by now, but I've still (mostly) left my iPhone off to see how this highly incomplete version of Android stands up in day-to day-use. And you know what? For something that's very clearly a preview, it doesn't make for a bad daily driver.

What's new in the Android M Dev Preview

First things first (and this should go without saying): Don't install the Android M preview and expect to see all the whiz-bang features from the keynote working in perfect harmony. They won't, mostly. As was the case with the Android L preview from last year, this isn't a build meant for wowing your iOS devotee friends. It's about giving developers an early chance to hook their apps up to Google's modified vision, so Android Pay, Direct Share and almost all the rest are nowhere to be found. The most crushing omission in my book is the lack of Now on Tap, a conceptually dead-simple feature that provides an informational Now card based on what you say or what's on screen. I fell in love so hard with this feature that its absence is almost palpable -- some might call it creepy, but I'm more than happy to let Google decide what I want before I can.

So what is there to pay attention to? Well, there's a revamped app launcher, for one. Instead of the discrete cards displaying your apps you swiped through in Lollipop, you're now left with a scrolling list with apps lumped together by name. The four apps you use most often live in an ever-changing top row that does a good job keeping up with your changing moods. The quick-launch bar also makes an appearance whenever you type something into the Google Search widget, although I can't honestly remember the last time I needed to search for something online and jumped into one of those apps instead. If you dig into the developer settings, you'll also find a System UI tuner that -- for now -- only lets you rearrange the Quick Settings slots that live above your notifications shade. Device makers like LG have let us fiddle with these little bits for ages now, and it's nice to see Google take inspiration from what others have already done to Android. (You could also be a contrarian at look at this as Google cribbing notes from OEM innovation, but that's a debate for another time.)

One of Android M's other big draws is its much smarter take on app permissions -- the days of agreeing to permissions before you'd even used an app are over, or at least they will be down the road. You'll still have to sign off on a manifest of permissions requests,but you can jump into the Apps menu in the settings to manually disable certain permissions. Sorry Airbnb, you're never touching my camera again. As you can see in the above screenshot, Android is going to nag you; after all, most of the applications you'll try this trick on won't play nice.

I left most of my apps well alone, but I spent more than enough time coming to grips with Google's improved sound and notification controls. You see, in the days before Lollipop, you could crank your volume all the way into a vibration-only mode, and one more click would make the phone completely silent. Now, with M, that one last click brings you into a Do Not Disturb mode that you can play with from the Quick Settings shade. Android's original implementation felt damned-near perfect, but M's is a step in the right direction: More often than not I'd just leave things in Priority Only mode so I could filter everything but work messages.

Beyond all that lie mostly minor changes: Your lockscreen font is a hair thicker than it used to be, and swiping from the left corner of your locked phone's screen brings up Google's Now voice interface instead of the dialer. If M's insistence on white interface elements is doing a number on your retinas, you can fire up a dark theme... but that only changes the way the settings menu appears.

Now, let's take a moment to step beyond what's new: How well does Android M as a package actually work? If you used the Android L preview as your daily driver right out of the gate last year, you were in for a world of potential, unstable hurt. That's not at all the case this time: My sacrificial Nexus 6 generally ran as well as it did before I started fiddling with it. Nearly all of my apps were peachy after re-install, though you'll run into lagginess and force quits more frequently than before you took the plunge. Some users have reported that their 64GB Nexus 6s were only reporting 23GB of storage space, but you can apparently fix that with a spin in the command line. Just par for the course, chums.

Thing is, when M works well, it works really well, which makes those moments of computational confusion stand out even more. Case in point? My T-Mobile LTE connection worked like a charm, say, 90 percent of the time. There were a few puzzling moments when I'd see the cell signal indicator go completely dark and my connection would go dead even though I had full service just moments before. Sometimes a quick restart would coax the connection back to life, but more often than not, I just had to wait for it to decide to work again. Oh, and once or twice while using the Nexus 6 as a mobile hotspot, I kept getting routed to Google Ireland whenever I tried searching for something -- I still haven't figured that one out. None of these issues has gotten to the point that I'd call them dealbreakers, but they're probably just enough of a headache to keep novices away.

The Motorola Moto E (1^st Gen) has started receiving the Android 5.1 update in India. The update, which is being rolled out to users over-the-air is expected to reach all moto E users in the country in the next few days. அறுக்கப்பட்ட கால்நடைகளின் இரத்தம் – இரத்தக் குழாய்களில் தங்கி கிருமிகள் உருவாகாமல் இருக்க வேண்டியாகும். கால்நடைகளை அறுக்கும் போது தண்டுவடம் துண்டிக்கப்படாமல் இருக்க வேண்டும். தண்டுவடும் துண்டிக்கப்படுவதால் – இதயத்திற்கு செல்லக்கூடிய இரத்த நாளங்கள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு – இதயம் நின்று போகக் கூடிய நிலை உண்டாகலாம். இதனால் இதயத்தில் உள் இரத்தம் இரத்த நாளங்களில் தங்கிவிடக் கூடும்.

D. கிருமிகளும் – நோய்க்கிருமிகளும் உருவாக காரணமாக அமைவது இரத்தமே !

கிருமிகளும் – நோய்க்கிருமிகளும் உருவாக காரணமாக அமைவது உடலில் உள்ள இரத்தமே. ஹலால்முறையில் கால்நடைகளை அறுக்கும்போது – கால்நைடகளின் உடலில் உள்ள இரத்தம் முழுவதும் வழிந்தோடச் செய்யப்படுவதால் நோய்க்கிருமிகள் உருவாவதில்லை.

E. . ஹலால் முறையில் அறுக்கப்படும் கால்நடைகளின் இறைச்சி நீண்ட நேரம் கெட்டுப் போகாமல் இருக்கும்.

இதை உண்மை படுத்தும் விதமாக ஹலால் முறையில் அறுக்க பட்ட உயிரினமும் ,வேறு விதமாக (தலை துண்டிக்கப்பட்டு ) அறுக்க பட்ட உயிரினங்களை விட ஹலால் கால்நடைகள் மிக குறைந்த (painless dead ) வலியை உணர்வதாக ஆராய்ச்சியில் தெரியவந்துள்ளது

1.தொண்டை அடைப்பு மற்றும் ஜலதோஷம் பிடித்தால் வெதுவெதுப்பான தண்ணீரில் ஒரு சிட்டிகை உப்பு சேர்த்து கொப்பளித்தல் வேண்டும். இதனால் உடலினுள் வைரஸ்கள் மேலும் நுழைவதை தடுக்க இயலும்.

2.நீராவி பிடித்தல்
நீராவி பிடித்தால் மூக்கடைப்பு மற்றும் மாரடைப்பிலிருந்தும் நிவாரணம் கிடைக்கும். சூடான நீராவி சுவாச பாதையில் இருக்கும் கிருமிகளை கொல்லும். மேலும் இது மென்மையான நாசி திசுக்களை, சூடான நீராவி காயப்படுத்தாமல் இருக்க வேண்டும். ஒரு ஸ்டீம் இன்ஹேலர் இல்லாத நிலையில், சுடு தண்ணீரை பயன்படுத்தலாம். ஜலதோஷம் வருவதுப் போல் தோன்றினால், நீராவி பிடித்தலால் இதனை தடுக்க இயலும். ஏற்கனவே ஜலதோஷத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவராக இருந்தால், ஜலதோஷ வலி நிவாரணி மற்றும் ஸ்டீமரை பயன்படுத்துதல் வேண்டும்.
3. இஞ்சி டீ
ஆவி பறக்கும் சூடான இஞ்சி டீ குடித்தால், ஜலதோஷத்தை எளிமையாகப் போக்கலாம்.
4. புதினா டீ
புதினா மற்றும் துளசி இலைகள் சேர்க்கப்பட்ட டீயை ஜலதோஷத்தின் போது குடித்தால், தொண்டை மற்றும் சுவாச பகுதிகளில் உள்ள பிரச்சனைகள் குணமாகும்.
5. சூடான ரசம்
புளி மற்றும் கருப்பு மிளகு சேர்த்து தயாரிக்கப்படும் சூடான ரசம், உடலில் உள்ள தேவையற்ற நச்சுகள் வெளியேற உதவுகிறது. மேலும் மூக்கு மற்றும் கண்களில் நீர்பெருக்கெடுப்பால், நாசி பாதையில் ஏற்படும் அடைப்புகளை நீக்குகின்றது

6. பூண்டு ரசம்

9. துளசி இலைகள்
குழந்தைகளுக்கு மூக்கு அடைத்திருந்தால், தேனுடன் துளசி இலை சாற்றை கலந்து ஒரு தேக்கரண்டி கொடுக்கலாம். பெரியவர்கள் துளசி இலையை மென்று சாப்பிடலாம்.

10. சுத்தமான கைகள்

ஒரு தந்தையும் மகனும் தங்களுடைய கழுதையை விற்பதற்காக சந்தைக்கு ஒட்டி சென்று கொண்டிருந்தனர். அதைப் பார்த்த வழிப்போக்கர்கள் சிலர் இவர்களைப் பார்த்து, "பாரேன், இவர்களை, அற்புதமான கழுதையை ஓட்டிக் கொண்டு நடந்து சென்று கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். இவர்களில் யாராவது அதில் ஏறிச் செல்லலாம். ஆனால் பொருளைக் கொடுத்த கடவுள் அதைப் பயன்படுத்த அறிவைக் கொடுக்கவில்லை, இவர்களுக்கு" என்று ஏளனம் செய்தனர்.

இதனால் வெட்கப்பட்டுப் போன தந்தையும் மகனும் ஒரு முடிவு செய்து, வயதில் சிறியவனான மகன் கழுதையின் மேல் உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டு, தந்தை நடந்தவாறே இருவருமாகப் போனார்கள். அப்போது வேறு சில வழிப்போக்கர்கள், "இங்கப் பாருடா அநியாயம்! பெரியவர் நடக்கமுடியாமல் நடக்கிறார், இந்த வாலிபப் பையன் சொகுசா கழுதை சவாரி செய்கிறான்" என்று கிண்டலடித்தனர்.

இதைக் கேட்டு இவர்கள் கூறுவதில் நியாயம் இருப்பதாக உணர்ந்த பையன், தந்தையைக் கழுதையில் உட்காரவைத்து இருவரும் புறப்பட்டனர்.இன்னும் சற்று தூரம் சென்ற பின் ஒரு வழிப்போக்கன் இவர்களைப் பார்த்து "கலி முற்றிவிட்டது.. இங்கப் பாரு! நல்லா சுக்குமாந்தடி போல இருக்கிற பெரியவர், ஒரு நோஞ்சான் பையனை நடக்கவிட்டு தான் மட்டும் சொகுசாக கழுதை மேல் ஏறிப்போகிறார்" என்றான்.

வழக்கம் போல இதைக்கேட்ட தந்தை-மகன் இருவரும் ஒரு சேர கழுதைமேல் ஏறிகொண்டனர். இனி இந்த உலகம் தங்களைப் பார்த்துக் கேலிப் பேசாது என்று தந்தைக் கூறினார்.

கொஞ்ச தூரம் சென்றபின் இன்னொரு வழிப்போக்கன் இவர்களைப் பார்த்து "இரண்டு தடியன்கள், ஒரு நோஞ்சான் கழுதையின் மேல் ஏறி சவாரி செய்கிறார்கள்; இரக்கங்கெட்ட ஜென்மங்கள்!" என்று காட்டமாக விமர்சித்தான்.

இதைக் கேட்டு வருந்திய தந்தையும், மகனும் கழுதையிலிருந்து குதித்தனர். இனி என்ன செய்வது? என்று சிந்தித்தனர். நீண்ட ஆலோசனைக்குப் பிறகு "மக்கள் மனம் மகிழ கழுதையை நாம் கட்டித் தோளில் சுமந்து செல்வோம்!" என்று முடிவு செய்தனர்.

அவ்வாறு கழுதையைத் தோளில் சுமந்து செல்கையில் வழியில் ஒரு காட்டாறு குறுக்கிட்டது. அதைக் கடக்கையில் கழுதை மிரண்டு போய் வெள்ளத்தில் விழுந்தது. கால்கள் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்ததால் அதனால் நீந்த முடியவில்லை! எனவே அது ஆற்று வெள்ளத்தில் அடித்துச் செல்லப்பட்டது.

Call Drop problem..?Give customer a free min : DOT

Soon after Reliance’s act of compensating call drops with free call minutes came into existence, the Government has decided to mull over such an option for the rest of the service providers for the issue. Earlier, telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had hinted the possibility of creating ‘a disincentive architecture (for the operators)’ to curb the frequent call drops issue.

“I have directed the officials in the department to “work on a disincentive architecture (for the operators)”, said Ravi Shankar Prasad. Telecom Secretary Rakesh Garg cited the example of free call minutes for every call that gets dropped as a kind of measure to disincentivize operators on call drops, yet not confirmed on making this as a primary solution.

A solution is expected to be in place within six months. DoT’s suggestions will be soon sent to the regulator the TRAI.

The Minister also emphasized the need to install more mobile towers to improve call quality. “There is a campaign on radiation issues, which is not good. In its study, the WHO had set standards for radiation. In India, we have set a standard which is one tenth of this. To minimize call drops, it is necessary that we have more towers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prasad said that the government has already received the report on net neutrality from the panel. This report will be published on the website. Similar is the case of spectrum sharing and guidelines. It will be sent to cabinet for further processes.

Blackberry updated its BBM for Android with Material Design

The Material Design which broke cover with Android Lollipop seems to be catching up at a brisk pace with apps. WhatsApp recently got itself the Material Design update and now BBM for Android has got itself the Material Design. The revamped UI is being rolled out currently to a select few BBM for Android users and you may soon get the notification for the update in near future.



The update brings large contact images, bright colours and an interface that is consistent across the app. BlackBerry claims to have worked quite hard on bringing the latest UI design to its messenger. The newer version of BBM for Android is available only through BlackBerry Beta Zone which is meant for the registered ones only. BlackBerry wants to have a measure of customer response before going in for the final rollout and is doing exactly this.

Currently, the beta program is full with registered members and your best shot at trying the revamped version is through joining the wait list for the time being. There is no official word as to when the update will see a final release and we can expect it to launch within the next 4-6 weeks.

Asus Launched ZenWatch 2 with four days battery life

Asus has just taken the covers off the ZenWatch 2, which will be taking the torch from the ZenWatch. A point worth mentioning before we proceed ahead is that the original ZenWatch still hasn’t reached India even though it has been confirmed by the top executives at Asus on more than occasion.

 



Coming to the ZenWatch 2, it takes a shot at the Apple Watch by offering two dial sizes and a wide array of customisation options with different bands and materials. It even gets a crown on the right side but it just a power button but not a scrolling unit like the one on Apple Watch.

The Asus ZenWatch 2 comes in two sizes: 49mm stainless steel case with a 22mm strap and 45mm stainless steel case with 18mm strap. It will be available in silver, gunmetal and rose gold colours. Asus has announced about 18 different strap materials for the smartwatch.

The ZenWatch 2 gets a new magnetic charger. Asus hasn’t revealed much about its specifications but is focussing more on its feature list for the time being. All that we know is that it gets AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3, is powered by a Qualcomm processor, runs Android Wear and has IP67 water resistance. It has a battery life of about 4 days and it can go even further with that.

It will be joined in by the Wellness app which will serve as your activity tracker. It also gets an improved version of Remote Camera under which you get better control over your smartphone’s camera. The smartwatch also gets ZenUI integration. Details regarding the pricing and other specifications are expected to be announced in future.

Samsung has been battling the onslaught of OEMs of the far East for quite a while in India, and is now making an attempt to get back into the game. It has now launched a budget 4G LTE smartphone named the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G. The smartphone was due for a release back in March in India but got delayed due to some unknown reasons.



A Mumbai based retailer, Mahesh Telecom, has revealed that Samsung has quietly launched the smartphone through brick-and-mortar stores in India. Airtel’s top guns told us last month, when it launched 4G in Mumbai, that the future will see Airtel tying up with Samsung for promoting 4G. As a result, this one comes with free 3GB of 4G data from the telecom operator. Other freebies include free premium subscriptions  for Hungama and Vuclip services for three months.

It shares all its specifications with the regular Galaxy Core Prime and adds 4G LTE connectivity on top of things. It comes with quite low specifications for its price, and there are much better options out there such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Yu Yureka, Yu Yuphoria, Lenovo A6000, Lenovo A6000 Plus, and Lenovo A7000 that offer better specifications at the same or even lower price than the Galaxy Core Prime 4G.
