How fast can a nail grow

A broken fingernail can seem to take forever to grow out if you're an adult. Children and young teens are the ones who get a lucky break -- their nails heal and grow back much faster. In fact, many parents can attest to cutting a squirming child's nails almost every other day. When it comes to nail growth, age and health play an important role.

Nails are made of a protein called keratin, and their growth is affected by several different factors, including age and health. Children's nails grow quickly until puberty, when growth slows to 50 percent of its previous rate [source: Robb-Nicholson]. Pregnant women also experience accelerated nail growth -- hormones boost metabolism and increase circulation, which causes nails and hair to grow more quickly. On the other hand, illnesses and certain drugs, such as chemotherapy, can slow nail growth or even cause nails to fall off [source: Murkoff].

Fingernails grow about three to four times faster than toenails. The nails on your dominant hand grow faster than those on your other hand, and nails grow faster on your longest fingers as well. Fingernails also grow more quickly in the summer than in the winter -- scientists aren't sure why, but one theory is that nails that are used more often and exposed to the elements grow faster [source: Binghamton University].

So how fast do the average adult's nail  grow ? The simple answer is that fingernails grow about one-tenth of an inch (3 millimeters) a month. If you lose a fingernail, it will take four to six months to regrow completely. Toenails take a year to a year and a half to grow from cuticle to tip [source: Robb-Nicholson]. If you notice a change in your nails or their growth rate, see your doctor.

reliance

Earlier Netconnect+ prepaid plans Rs 449 and Rs 797 offer true unlimited CDMA EVDO internet at 3.1 Mbps speed for 15 days and 30 days respectively. Reliance has withdrawn plan Rs 449(except for UP West) and revised  Rs 797 to offer 10GB/12GB unlimited with FUP for 28 days instead of 30 days earlier. But Reliance has retained both plans as true unlimited for UP west circle.

Reliance has made available Rs 999 plan for Netconnect+ subscribers which was earlier only available for Reliance PRO 3 users. The plan offer 10GB day + 10GB night or 12GB day + 12GB night usage for 28 days validity depending on circle. For postpaid subscribers Reliance Netconect+ offer true unlimited on Rs 999 plan available only in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra & Mumbai.

True unlimited internet plans are very rare in wireless broadband segment and Reliance offering was welcomed by users across the country. But the latest move by the company to end true unlimited plan will be a great blow to Netconnect+ subscribers.

Know about India's first Android Mobile

You cant imagine phones without Android, either it is Lolipop or ICS, but do you know which was the first Android phone introduced in India..? no na...? read below

Quick review:

Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel and currently developed by Google. With a user interface based on direct manipulation, Android is designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers, with specialized user interfaces for televisions (Android TV), cars (Android Auto), and wrist watches (Android Wear). The OS uses touch inputs that loosely correspond to real-world actions, like swiping, tapping, pinching, and reverse pinching to manipulate on-screen objects, and a virtual keyboard. Despite being primarily designed for touchscreen input, it has also been used in game consoles, digital cameras, regular PCs, and other electronics. As of 2015, Android has the largest installed base of all operating systems.

Android, Inc. was founded in Palo Alto, California in October 2003 by Andy Rubin (co-founder of Danger), Rich Miner (co-founder of Wildfire Communications, Inc.), Nick Sears (once VP at T-Mobile), and Chris White (headed design and interface development at WebTV) to develop, in Rubin's words, "smarter mobile devices that are more aware of its owner's location and preferences". The early intentions of the company were to develop an advanced operating system for digital cameras. Though, when it was realized that the market for the devices was not large enough, the company diverted its efforts toward producing a smartphone operating system that would rival Symbian and MicrosoftWindows Mobile.Despite the past accomplishments of the founders and early employees, Android Inc. operated secretly, revealing only that it was working on software for mobile phones. That same year, Rubin ran out of money. Steve Perlman, a close friend of Rubin, brought him $10,000 in cash in an envelope and refused a stake in the company.

MTS Network Coverage Locator enables users to check the connectivity in a region

MTS has launched a platform for the users to check the connectivity of its services using a network coverage locator on a smartphone or a computer.

Dubbed as MTS Network Coverage Locator, this is a Geographic Information System-based service that will first track the location of the users and enables them to check the quality of its services from the location address entered. Thus, any new customer who plans to buy a new MTS data card can check the quality of connectivity himself before purchasing the connection.

Besides checking connectivity, this platform can be used to locate the nearest MTS branded retail outlets. The service is available across Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, West Bengal, Gujarat, Delhi, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh (West).

“This would probably be the first time in India someone has come up with this kind of graphical user interface for customers. This is an India-centric initiative to check coverage in a particular area and ensure our services do not fall in a shadow area,” said Rajeev Batra, Chief Information Officer (CIO), to a leading national daily.

“All operators have dark spots even in cities and this is an effective way to find out the quality of coverage in a region,” he added.
